Making the “Unknown” Known

This is Alexander Skargård.

He is a 6’4 Swedish import that packs more talent in his pinky that most actors can find in their entire body.  He is incredibly good looking and by all accounts an all around great guy to know.  I personally have not had the pleasure, but I look forward to the day.  He has a long list of film and TV credits that you can read about at your leisure on IMDB where he is credited as an actor, writer and director.

I read an article today about the current status of his upcoming release Tarzan that made my head explode and my pocketbook clench shut tighter than a virgin’s thighs at a college kegger.

And I quote:  “And a high-level executive at another studio expresses doubt about the viability of the Tarzan property and casting a relative unknown, Skarsgard, as the lead, saying, “You shouldn’t make that movie without an actor you’re dying to see in the part.”

Yeah, I need a minute to breathe….(deep breath in, deep breath out.)

So, I live in a world where political leaders running for office belong in a big top tent more than the White House.  I live a in a world where after seventeen years at a company I planned to retire from just told me to piss off, cause we are selling the place and we don’t need you.  I live in a world where absurdity is the norm and trifling is the flavor of the day.

I can deal with that, ALL of that, and probably even survive it.  Imma big girl.  I know how to bootstrap my way around this fucked up little galaxy but…this?  THIS is over the fucking line!

Let me tell you what I am not dying to see.

I am not dying to see another rehash of Peter Fucking Pan.

I am not dying to see fucking Ben Affleck pretend to be Bruce Wayne and I need no fingers to count the shits I give about Superman throwing down with him.

Frankly, I don’t think my life will be changed either for better or worse by  a Harry Potter spin off, but hey, I could be  wrong about that one.

I AM DYING TO SEE ALEX AS TARZAN!

How dare you say otherwise?  I have my quickly dwindling funds set aside with a post it that says TARZAN. I may be living in a box come summer 2016 but I will leaving it long enough to see that fucking movie.

I want to see this movie because Alex is in it.  That’s it, that’s all, and I am willing to bet that most if not all of his fans feel the same way.  Which is every single solitary fucking woman I know.  You know the 53% if the voting population that Hillary is always going on about?

In a world where one bad comment can destroy a thing before it even opens it eyes I can’t express how shitty it is for movie execs to be trash talking this film before it even has a chance.  It’s EP passed away, it’s director is working fucking weekends to finish the editing because he has been reassigned and they are blaming the so called “new guy”?

No.  No fucking way.

If they can manage to decide to give this movie its due and finish it and actually let it come to theaters then I will go.  Until then, fuck Warner Brothers, they won’t see a dime of my money.

Again, this is Alexander Skarsgård. He makes great fucking movies.  I will always pony up to support him.

Amen to that, Sista! 😉 I also don’t want to see a remake of The Fantastic Four only 5 minutes after the last one, or the 56th installment of the Spiderman franchise. **giant eye roll

YES!!! Well said iDream. I personally think Alex is a great actor and will support anything he is in. I did buy Hidden. LOL. I cannot wait until Tarzan comes out. I’ve already told my son that if no one will go with me to see it he will be going. He’s not excited but he loves me and knows I need to see Alex all buff with his shirt off for most of the movie. 🙂

I bought Hidden, too! 🙂 and I stayed away from all the reviews before so I could just watch it and figure out what _I_ thought about the film. I liked it. I thought he was amazing as that little girls Dad, just he was in Maisie and all the other roles he has done. Battleship would have been a much better film if his part had been larger.
He brings a quality with him to all of his parts no matter how big or small that makes me believe that he is that person. Not many actors can do that.
I was thinking today about a comment on my post that I saw on another board where someone said that he was making bad choices for films and not working his career to the max and I thought WTF? He is a millionaire. He has established that he likes doing what he likes doing and he does it well. He looks for parts that interest him in enterprises he considers worthy. How is that not maximizing your career? If I were rich I would be doing exactly the same thing. I would do the projects I wanted to do just because I wanted to do them.
What would be wrong with that? Who would still do jobs they hated if they didn’t need the money?
People are so strange. If you work hard to be successful why would you not use that success to do the things you love?
I would respect those choices on principle alone. And not just because he is Askars and I am a fan girl. There are other people who march to their own drummer ignoring the nay sayers that have just as much of my respect for being true to themselves.
Thanks for the re-blog 🙂 See ya at the movies ;).

I think he’s a wonderful actor and he plays the dad role too well. I’d totally have a baby with him and I’ve sworn of more kids. Lol

Alex has said he doesn’t want to be stereotyped into one role. Personally I love the roles he’s taken no matter if they were big or small. I believe he’ll keep true to himself and take the parts he wants and challenge him.

Only good thing about that article was we got to hear from you! Hope life is getting better for you and we might hear from you again. I know I’m not the only one who misses you.

Thank you! I mean honestly, what are they thinking? It really makes me mad that Alex gets this chance and some exec has to chime in and mess it up. 😡😡😡 He is an awesome actor and they would see that if they would just look! Fools!!

On another note, welcome back! I hope things get better for you soon.

    Welcome back.
I have all but stopped going to movies; there are so few original concept movies out there that I got sick and tired of seeing the same thing over and over and over again.
Not only do I not NEED to see another Spiderman, another Batman or, or, or…I most definitely do not WANT to see another whatever.
If they can’t put their minds together and come up with something we haven’t already seen a billion times to infinity and beyond they don’t deserve my money. Simple.
Yes, I realize ASkars has done some original stuff based off books but I have been in a funk for what seems like a very long time. My get up and go got up and went, leaving me behind I guess. I’m breaking out of that bit by bit. Currently I’m binge watching Vampire Diaries every night, lol, and it is helping somewhat.
    Anyway, welcome back.

Binge watching Vampire Diaries is an excellent way to get your groove back. 🙂 Original writing, movies and television shows are hard to come by, but I won’t give up. 🙂 Thanks for the welcome back. 🙂

Is it because he’s not Jewish? I’ve noticed that most of those who do well in hollywood are of that faith.
I think he’s a great actor as well. I can’t believe he didn’t get nominated for the scene he did in True Blood when Norah died. I cried and cried.
I’ve been waiting for Tarzan and hoping it will get an Australian release.
